Section from "I Want Them to Know" from
Let's Dream Together
"I want them to know
the rustle of long grass, the wind in their hair
Of magic worlds discovered without a care
Exploring together their make believe
In sync with nature, no moment to take leave...."

Section of "Family Stories"
from Let's Dream Together
"Intertwining family stories extend
who we are
Weaving patterns shaping the fabric of who we become
A collaboration of ideas, strengthened by belonging

Let us establish new threads
connecting chapters....."

About continued from home page ....
Early years ....
My Nan was an excellent writer - especially poetry. Yoda like in her wisdom.
My mother was a classically trained singer and hosted monthly musical events with other musicians in our home in Vaucluse when we were young . She later managed a symphony orchestra and choir and then held parties (including for her close friend opera singer Morag Beaton's 80th Birthday) and fundraising concerts with international performers in her garden music room and beautiful garden (by then in Leura). Having been a nurse in her earlier years, she was aligned with health related causes.
My father had his own business for over 40 years. He was community minded and involved with Rotary in an ongoing capacity for decades. I wish I'd listened to my father's client and friend earlier who was an artist and just create - create your lane and do it. Now I've found it, art and writing are necessary to my life.
I hope to always develop in my creative journey. In doing so, even when I restart an artwork or make mistakes, I hope to show my children tenacity to explore their own creative voices and to contribute in meaningful ways to community and society as they grow as well.
All children deserve love, mentoring, support and opportunities.

Experience/Background:
I am enjoying creating these services after managing a family member's business.
Experience as a business owner: In the 2000’s I created and managed a double shop with an art gallery showcasing local artists (I wasn't painting at that time) and a sightseeing centre next door. It was open 7 days a week. At the same time, I operated a Tour Business. We brought international and domestic visitors from Sydney to regions within NSW especially to the Blue Mountains. We also did local tours. Tours included behind the scenes experiences, artist studio visits, foodie experiences, history and garden visits. Having gained experience and having earnt my stripes with return clients: corporate groups, special interest groups and agents as well as many boutique size groups, my tour business was featured on Sydney Weekender, Channel 7, in SMH and in several travel publications.
Prior to the year 2000, I worked in the Community NGO sectors with children, the elderly and people with disabilities in a variety of roles - educational, recreational and therapeutic. I also worked in the film industry doing make up and special effects make up and taught classes of up to 30 students at intermediate and advanced levels also designing new programmes.
