Quality Affordable Artworks by Neutral Bay Artist
Cathy Hayson
Original Paintings by Commission or Availability
Bespoke artworks created for you of a favourite memory or place with consultation across the process
Artist Statement: "I want my art to be accessible where possible whilst not compromising on quality.
I absolutely love to do one off commissions and original pieces - the collaboration, step by step or doing a series of works.
I also really enjoy the freedom in creating fine quality limited edition products in various materials including archival Ilford silk papers and breathable 100 % cotton as it is another creative process in itself which produces various products from a simple card to a signed limited edition print to my various wearables.
I hope you enjoy, Cathy"

About continued from home page ....
Early years ....
My Nan was an excellent writer - especially poetry.
My mother was a classically trained singer and hosted monthly concerts with many classical and jazz musicians in our home in Sydney when we were young. She later managed a symphony orchestra and choir and then held parties (including for her close friend opera singer Morag Beaton's 80th Birthday) and fundraising concerts with international performers in her garden music room and beautiful garden (by then in Leura). Having been a nurse in her earlier years, she was aligned with health related causes.
My father had his own successful business for over 40 years. He was community minded and involved with Rotary in an ongoing capacity for decades. I wish I'd listened to my father's client and friend earlier who was an artist and just create - create your lane and do it. Now I've found it, art and writing are necessary to my life.
I hope to show my children tenacity to explore their own creative voices, to find their forte and to contribute in meaningful ways to community and society as they grow as well.
All children deserve love, mentoring, support and opportunities.

Experience/Background:
I am enjoying creating these services after managing a family member's business and prior to that my own business.
Experience as a business owner: In the 2000’s I created and managed a double shop with an art gallery showcasing local artists (I wasn't painting at that time) and a sightseeing and accommodation centre next door. It was open 7 days a week. At the same time, I owned a Tour Business and managed staff. We brought international and domestic visitors by tour from Sydney to regions within NSW especially to the Blue Mountains. We also did local tours. Tours specialised in behind the scenes experiences, artist studio visits, foodie experiences, local area sight seeing and history and garden visits. Having gained experience and having earnt my stripes with return clients: large and boutique sized corporate groups - bonding, leisure and downtime, special interest groups and agents as well as many boutique size tour groups, my tour business was featured on Sydney Weekender, Channel 7, in SMH and in several travel publications.
Prior to the year 2000, I worked in the Community NGO sectors with children, the elderly and people with disabilities in a variety of roles - educational, recreational and therapeutic. I also worked in the film industry doing make up and special effects make up and taught classes of up to 30 students at intermediate and advanced levels also designing new programmes.
