 Section from Mother's Garden

by Cathy Hayson

"Mother’s garden – she commenced her journey in this town

Her beloved birth place, her beginning, the earliest jewel in her Crown

Tended to with a mother’s love, a nurse’s loving toil

This jewel stays with her, it’s essence and it’s seasons embedded in her core

Verdant fertile garden beds rich in clay, now rich in memory restored

Reunion, family with it’s growth to come around

Her motherly love with it’s seasons softly bound..."

"This painting is of a garden and home based in Leura,
Blue Mountains. Titled Mother's Garden, whilst a personal piece, this limited edition print is a special artwork for anyone who appreciates gardens and charming old homes - especially in Leura. I hope it captures the essence of this special place and it's vibrancy in Spring.

With extended family multi generational ties to the Blue Mountains on my mother's side, many family get togethers have been held throughout generations in the family's former beautiful Leura parklike garden (approximately 2820 square metres) featuring Paul Sorrenson planted trees (the same person responsible for Everglades Garden in Leura) with over 300 types of roses and many rare and old special plantings."
